Georgian Antique Sterling Silver Basket Hallmarked 1.6lbs

Antique Georgian sterling silver basket. The basket is well marked silver London made between circa 1750-1820. The makers mark is half marked on the design and is illegible. If I had to make a guess I would say last initial or P or perhaps D. First initial is only part marked as well. The dateline letter is Q with an open tail. I have circled the hall marks with a blue ring. Under the handle there is a lion mark which we derived the dateline from. Silver pieces bearing this mark were produced between 1750-1820. We will do some more research on the dateline and silversmith and hope to add to this listing. The basket is large measuring 13 1/4" long by 10 1/2" wide and is 4 1/2" tall. Handle in upright position to base is 12". The basket is completely hand crafted and solid weighing in at a hefty 1.6lbs sterling. On the bottom of the basket there are a few spots on the ribbon dots that have polished through. Please refer to photos. The bottom of the basket bears the initials of L B likely the owner. Here is your opportunity to own a rare early antique English Georgian basket.
